(Click on the Picture for the full story) The Boise Bench Lions, one of the city’s longest-standing community service clubs, continues its tradition of service and collaboration across the Treasure Valley. Founded in 1951, the club has built a strong legacy of partnering with local nonprofit and social service organizations to support underserved individuals and strengthen the fabric of the Boise community.
As part of its ongoing commitment to improving vision care in Idaho, the Boise Bench Lions Club is pleased to announce a $500 donation to the Lions Envision Sight (Envision) Illuminate Futures Campaign, in addition to a $5000 donation earlier this year. The club has been deeply involved with Envision since its founding in 1969, contributing both financial support and volunteer service for more than five decades. This donation will add to the expansion building costs, the Illuminate Futures campaign to expand corneal transplant services for Idaho surgeons and patients and across the United States.
Throughout its history, the Boise Bench Lions Club has assisted organizations such as Envision, the Idaho Veterans Home, the Idaho Food Bank, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and the Friendship Food Pantry. The club also provides direct community support by helping individuals obtain eyeglasses, building wheelchair ramps, and responding to urgent needs as they arise.

Envision remains a premier Lions service organization, providing essential programs that benefit residents across the state. These programs include the Idaho Lions Eye Bank, the Idaho Lions Vision Clinic, eyeglass recycling, a hearing aid program, and vision and hearing screenings in local schools. The Boise Bench Lions Club is honored to continue supporting these efforts, helping ensure that Idahoans have access to critical vision and hearing services regardless of ability to pay.
“Service is at the heart of everything we do,” said club President Rick Vogel. “Our long-term partnership with Envision and other community organizations reflects our mission to meet local needs and create lasting impact here on the Boise Bench and throughout the Treasure Valley.”
